Smart Class

It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that we are introducing a world acclaimed technology integration program for teaching and learning in classrooms from this academic session. The program is called “smart class” and is designed to empower teachers with technology right inside classrooms, turning them into lively and vibrant learning platforms for students

How does Smart Class program work?

The teachers will now be able to use digital resources such as animations, graphics, images and video clippings while teaching the chosen topic in smart classrooms. The classrooms turn into lively learning platforms for students and the teachers can choose from a mix of teaching tools such as the traditional chalk and blackboard coupled with graphics, sound, animations and videos

For example in a geography class on volcanoes, a video on how it erupts and its features would be shown. In a history class on world war, they will view some actual footage of the war.A vast repository of over 35,000 digital modules in subjects such as Math, Science, Social Studies and English shall be available for teachers to work with. The knowledge center will be connected through campus-widenetwork to existing class rooms

Kidzee Support System

At Akshara, we believe in bringing up children who are all rounders, who can use their 5 senses effectively by enjoying, exploring and gaining new knowledge and we belive that KIDZEE ensures all round development of the child and expose him to many aspects of life

With a unique, one of its kind concept, KIDZEE is a place where children grow & develop while reading, listening and playing. Here they move from dependence to independence, from shaky coordination to refined skills, from body language to verbal communication, from self-absorption to growing social awareness

Away from the confines of their homes and their family, children in our preschool are taught to perform basic tasks like eating, drinking water, using toilet, talking to others and many more on their own. At Kidzee every child is given an opportunity to explore his innate abilities

With well trained teachers and staff, Kidzee ensures that a child becomes self dependent by inculcating good habits along with high levels of hygiene and safety

Laboratory

Learning by doing is the most effective way of learning. The school provides the most modern labs which are continually upgraded.Theory is incomplete without practicals. One needs to completely get involved in the various practical experiments whether it be Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics or Computers to get a thorough knowledge and understanding of what had been taught in the theory class

Labs are neatly arranged with a view to a fresh approach. When a student walks in, the Lab assistant and the teacher both assist him / her in understanding and undertaking experiment

Sports

Extending PE in the classroom to activities in the field,Akshara Public School provides its students multiple opportunities to develop skills in competitive team sports while learning the responsibilities and leadership qualities of team play. In addition, students are introduced to several individual sports and encouraged to develop

Akshara Public Schools believe that every child should be given the opportunity to excel in academics and sports. The school offers a wide variety of sporting activities. Our Physical Education staff are highly committed to fitness and wellness. They have vast experience in drawing out the best sporting instincts in students and getting all children involved in what is a superb social as well as physical activity. Teamwork and sportsmanship skills are at the heart of the programme

Transportation

We have a fleet of buses to pick up and drop the students from and at every corner of the town. Our timetable has been planned in such a way that we can avoid rush hour traffic. Drivers are trained and constantly monitored to ensure that travel is safe. Each bus has staff members to make sure that students board and alight from the bus safely

Curriculum

Kindergarten (Pre-School)

The care given at this level is very gentle and with utmost care. The children are very tender at this level. The curriculum at this stage is fun filled and meaningful. All the activities focus on social, emotional and aesthetic development of the child. Indoor and outdoor activities are planned to develop concept building, motor control, language and communication enhancement. The subject introduced at this level are English, Number work Environmental studies along with Music, Dance, Art & Craft nature walk and Excursions which improves the child’s cognitive and perceptive.

Primary: I to IV

At this stage students are encouraged to think independently and creatively. Activity based teaching method is adopted; the emphasis is on multiple skill enhancement. The subjects offered at this level are English communicative, Kannada, Hindi, Science, Social Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Art & Craft, and Physical education. Life skill education and co curricular activities inculcate healthy spirit, competition and values among the students. Continuous and comprehensive evaluation is adopted at this stage as per CBSE instruction on 5 scale grading system.

Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)

Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) refers to a system of school-based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of students development. It is a developmental process of assessment which emphasizes on two fold objectives. These objectives are continuity in evaluation and assesssment of board based learning and behaviourial outcomes on the other

In this scheme the term 'Continuous' is ment to emphasise the evaluation of identified aspect ofstudents 'growth and development' is a continuous process rather than an event, built into the total teaching-learning process and spread over the entire span of academic session. It means regularity of assessment, frequency of unit testing, diagnosis of learning gaps, use of corrective measures, retesting and feedback of evidence to teachers and students for their self evaluation

The second term 'Comprehensive' means that the scheme attempts to cover both the scholastic and the co-scholastic aspects of students growth and development. Sice abilities, attitudes and aptitudes can manifest themselves in forms other then the written word, the term refers to application of variety of tools and techniques (both testing and non-testing) and aims at assessing a learner's development in areas of learning like

The scheme is thus a curricular initiative, attempting to shift emphasis from testing to holistic learning. It aims at creating good citizens possessing sound health, appropriate skills and desirable qualities besides academic excellence. It is hoped that this will equip the learners to meet the challenges of life with confidence

Remedial Teaching

Remedial teaching is to ensure the desired quality of learning. It is a type of teaching aimed at correcting errors or addressing gaps in knowledge. The teacher, like the physician, uses test instruments to find out the difficulties in learning. Therefore, diagnostic test provides a detailed picture of strengths and weaknesses in the areas of students learning. The stages of diagnostic testing are: Identifying the students who need help, locating the error/learning difficulties, and discovering the causal factors. Remedial teaching is not re-teaching. Any remedy however costly or sophisticated is useless unless it cures the disease

National Science Talent Exam To foster the childs scientific thinking & sharpening of their reasoning skills the school conducts the national science talent exam every year. our students have actively participated & have got certificate & wonderful feedback for their efforts.

Chintana International Exam To encourage student Participation & bring their logical & creative powers to the fore,the school conducts Chintana International Exam for Science, Mathamatics, English & Drawing for students includes Kindergarten.

Inter School Talent Scan The school hosted & organised an inter school competition in which various school participated. Mayuri bagged the first prize for essay competition Siddanth B.H won the second prize for his drawing skills. Karthik won the second prize for his singing ability.
